OH how excited I am to be introducing this new personal project today! Over the past few months I’ve had this idea of brides, sweets, and amazing locations…and somehow Runaway Bride was born.

 

This week, I had the amazing chance to work with the talented Esme, she’s so stunning and this styled shoot could not have been more perfect for anyone else! We headed to Jowler Creek Vineyard and Winery in Platte City. Not only do they have one beautiful winery but their wine, amazing! Jamie, my wonderful friend and owner of the Directors Cut Salon, styled Esme’s hair for the shoot. Oh and I can’t forget about the cupcakes, a main part of this day that I had specially ordered from Cupcake A La Mode, those ladies are just lovely and you can bet we ate every last one of those cupcakes 🙂

So as we were all set and ready to go for the big moment, a storm system made it’s way into the greater Kansas City area…

I was not entirely enthused, but above all planned on making things work. Luckily the rain was only a slight mist for half of the day and most of the lightning stayed far enough in the distance that it was not any danger to the crew or myself! So we made our way into the vineyard and had the most amazing time creating images that I am quite fond of. The story, well just imagine a bride running away from her wedding, finds herself lost in a vineyard. So what’s a girl to do, eat a cupcake, they make everything better right? Well in this scenario it worked, plus those cupcakes were amazing, any person mad, sad, or just having an off day would perk right up if they took a bite!

 

This is an ongoing project, so be on the look out for many more styled shoots like this to pop up here and there over the next year!
