Travel Tuesdays :Vegas Baby • Missouri Wedding Photographer

After one whirl wind trip to Vegas last week, I thought what better place to do this week’s Travel Tuesday post on then Las Vegas itself! While I was there for WPPI and two fabulous styled engagement sessions, Las Vegas still held true to it’s reputation, with bright lights and a city that well never sleeps. Of course I had to spend one of my days out on the strip during Monique and Ryan’s engagement session, really taking in what Vegas had to offer. The strip is pretty neat but if you aren’t a fan of walking, I’d suggest staying within a block of your hotel. When I arrived one local told me “if you can see it it’s too far”, and I definitely understand that now.

Since I had never seen a desert before and the only image in my head for one was that of Aladdin with sand and sun, I really wanted to make it out to Red Rock Canyon. So towards the end of my trip I headed out that way with Oksana and Larry, a beautiful couple from Las Vegas itself. The desert was not quite like I imagined, but was stunning with mountains and vast valleys that were mostly barren except for shrubs and cactus’.Yes, Las Vegas does have some amazing natural settings if you can get past the hype of the casinos and night life. So all in all, Vegas had a bit of everything but it is sure to leave you drained and ready for a couple days of sleep when you get home!
