As a child, my family and I would vacation in Colorado each year! The Great Sand Dunes National Park was always a place I wanted to visit. The vastness and beauty of this national park wasn’t fully apparent until our latest trip out to Colorado when I finally had my wish come true! These natural dunes are set in-between mountains and the drive alone between Telluride and the National Park is amazing. The dunes are massive, with the tallest dune reaching 750ft!  The light later in the day creates the most beautiful shadows along the dunes and as a storm rolled in, we couldn’t have asked for a more breathtaking setting!

Bethany and Eddie met with us out at the Sand Dunes for their Anniversary Session! We absolutely LOVED how Bethany’s dress and wind on top of the dunes mixed in these photos! The Sand Dunes themselves are absolutely amazing. It took us 30 minutes just to climb to the nearest point. Between the sun, sand, and wind we didn’t climb much further but you can see from the photos below that we didn’t need to in order to capture the beauty of this magical place!

It may have taken years to fulfill this dream but finally checking this location and shoot off my “Photography Bucket List” is something I’ll always remember! Here are a just a few of our favorites from the afternoon, Happy Anniversary Bethany and Eddie and thanks for experiencing this amazing place with us!
