What better way to start the new year than with my Parent’s 50th Vow Renewal in Maui! Yes, you read that right, 50 years!!! Rewind to 25 years ago and my Dad, the romantic that he is, asked my Mom to marry him again in Maui! He surprised her with the wedding, the dress, the church; it was perfect! So at 50 years, they knew they wanted to renew their vows on the same day, with the same outfits, and at the same church!
My sister Sarah and I headed off to Maui to be a part of this beautiful day! After all, it’s not every day you see your parents get married! We went to Mass the morning of their wedding at St. Anthony’s Church and were welcomed with handmade leis by the children who attend school at the Parish! After Mass, we walked next door to St. Damien’s Chapel where my parents renewed their vows!
After the renewal we had to celebrate with a stop at Mama’s Fish House! If you make it to Maui, this is a must stop! We captured a few photos of the “newlyweds” by the ocean and then headed in for the best meal of our entire trip! Our final stop was on a beautiful beach in Kihei! As the sun was setting I photographed my own Parents and all the love they share for one another! This Hawaii wedding day was nothing short of perfection.
Congratulations Mom and Dad and here’s to 50 more beautiful years together!
