Vendor Love : Sisters Flowers • Missouri Wedding Photographer

In a beautiful suburb right outside of St Louis sits Sisters Flowers, a fabulous boutique florist that has been catering to their brides since November 2001! They create everything from elaborate centerpieces that would make your Mother do a double take to intimate bouquets for simple and sweet weddings! This is one florist that I can personally say will turn a regular reception into something pulled out of a story book.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Sisters Flowers during Corina and Patrick’s wedding, summer of 2010. Their floral arrangements were just stunning and Corina was glowing from ear to ear when she saw the reception site! Here are a few photos from the day, like I said just stunning!

And now to the question section to give you, the bride, that little extra one on one with the vendors Emily and Shelly of Sisters Flowers!

First let’s get all the basics, name, location, what DO you do?

Sisters Flowers, Kirkwood (central St Louis county) Missouri | Website : Sistersflowers.net | I, Emily,  opened Sisters Flowers & Gifts in downtown Kirkwood November 1, 2001.   I got started by buying a small struggling flower and gift shop and moving it to Kirkwood.  We did our first wedding show in September of 2002 and the weddings took off!

What is your favorite part about servicing weddings?

Emily and Shelly : It’s tie between giving the bride her bouquet and stepping back to look at the finished reception room. It’s really rewarding to work with a bride from the very beginning of the design process and to see the final result the day of the wedding!

Because you both work with flowers on a daily basis, you have to have a favorite right? …

Emily : Wrong, I don’t have any favorite kids either… 🙂   I do have a favorite rose called the Circus rose.

Shelly : Tulips!

• Speaking of Kids…do you have any? YES!

Emily : Yes,  a 21-year-old son in Medical School and an 18-year-old daughter who is a Senior in high school.

Shelly : Yes, a 16 month old daughter.

Big question, one good piece of advice for brides to be? Looks like budget is the overall winner on this one!

Emily : As soon as you become engaged, sit down with all parties involved and set a budget for the wedding.  Then hire a planner/coordinator.  I have seen so many brides spend way more than they wanted to because they failed to set a budget before they booked a reception site they should not have or bought a dress that was too expensive for their over all budget.

Shelly : Know what your budget limitations are before you exceed them! Budgeting will help you to have a beautiful and well-balanced day, no matter what the final number is.

• Last but certainly not least, if you could travel to one place in the world, where would you go and why? Good choices ladies!

Shelly: Italy. I would love to travel the country side, sip on wine and eat all the delicious food! I WILL get there someday!

Emily: France.   Three reasons – best food, best wine, best art.
